It is always challenging when you get to a city you either know a little bit or you do not know anything about it. We go to Sydney once a year and I love it but one thing that we find hard is good places to eat & shop, so I found The Urban List online which worked out because I found some amazing places as we really only had 6 meals to fulfil.
A fantastic website (better to use on a computer & ipad) only for Australia, it has all the good restaurants/pub to shopping places on it. They have a little review on the place, it's location, hours and some images. It helped me a lot because I am one to check the following: fantastic decor, Menu with things I like the sound of (also that can cater for everyone I am with e.g. someone that does not eat fish) and also the location. If they tick those boxes they are on my check list straight away.
This is a fantastic whole-foods place where you can bulk buy your nuts, oils, kombucha on tap, have a nice morning coffee and eat-in with some of the yummiest cabinet food. The simplicity of the interior was fresh and new; dreaming of one in Auckland now. If you go you must try their cocowhip; I had the breakfast one which was delicious.
Potts Point, Sydney
It is stunning restaurant hidden in the back streets of Potts Point with the most breath taking view of the City. It has the bones of a historical place but modernised with the pairing of luxe & exotic theme's that complement each other nicely with french colonial inspired interiors with french style food with a modern twist on it all.
This is one to not miss out on (book in advance if your a late diner) or head there before 6:30pm for a walk in table or a long lunch is always a good idea.
It is a beautiful restaurant located in the heart of Woollahra with it's own garden where they source a lot of their own fresh vegetables from; absolutely love this idea. Eating in season is the most important way of eating. The menu is designed to share, with a classic Hamptons x glass house style interior.
